Fire was the key to Zhu Yuan's mastery of the blade. He had to be fast, so as to cut through the burning flames; steady, so as not to disturb the tongues of fire; adaptable, so he could keep pace with dancing light and evade the rolling waves of heat.
In this way, the flames shaped his swordsmanship, yet he never conquered them. That scalding power burned him, again and again... and drew him in all the deeper. One day, he swore, he would hold the power of flame in his own hand.
