The fight
Flame is the lion dance boss. Creative director Soulframe Liang picks the fight out in S-GAME's "What exactly is Wuxia?" video as one of the boss fights of the trailer for The Game Awards 2025, and both the August 2026 deep dive and the October 2026 preview build show it under its full name.
The idea came from a visit to a lion dance master in Shenzhen. A lion costume is worked by two dancers, so the studio made the boss move like a large monster at a distance and like a person up close, where "the person in front will leap up and kick with both legs". The fight takes place at night, under strings of red lanterns.
Partway through, the boss bar changes to The Lion Dance Grandmaster's Final Dance, the second phase. S-GAME has described the lion dance to Xinhua as one of its "functional gameplay mechanics, not visual motifs".
